Mark Whybro AFSM BA MBT GIFireE – Assistant Commissioner Fire Safety Projects Fire and Rescue NSW
Assistant Commissioner Whybro joined the NSW Fire Brigades in 1981 and has 40 years’ experience in emergency and risk management. In 2011, Mark assumed responsibility for FRNSW’s prevention and community education programs, regulatory and advisory functions in the built environment, fire investigation, fire and human behaviour research. Mark chaired the AFAC Built Environment Technical Group from 2013 to 2020 and has represented FRNSW on numerous Taskforces and Committees.
Since its relaunch in 2019, Assistant Commissioner Whybro has co-chaired the Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition, established as the national independent source of information to the community, industry and Governments about the life-saving value of residential sprinklers.
