SESSIONS

AS1851 Update

Australian Standard (AS) 1851 covers the Routine service of fire protection systems and equipment and covers a large amount of the Essential Safety. Measures (ESM’s) that are refenced in the National Construction Code (NCC) and provides a minimum benchmark of how to maintain these measures to their approved design.

During this session under the Inspect and Test Stream the following areas will be covered:

  • Background and timeline of where the AS1851 proposed project became a new edition option for FP001.
  • Update on the new AS1851 project proposal and its current status.
  • List of nominating organizations that make up FP001
  • How the process to a new edition will transpire based on Standards Australia processes and requirements.
  • Summary of the feedback from FPA Australia members and other stakeholders within the Fire Industry by each section of AS1851.
