Aggie Vlahos

With more than 15 years of experience in law prior to her admission to practice in 2011, Aggie Vlahos brings a unique combination of experience to Elit Lawyers at McGirr & Snell.

Aggie’s diversity enables clients to engage an astute and sensitive lawyer who can navigate interconnected areas of expertise during a dispute, particularly when it comes to issues relating to family law, corporate and commercial agreements, Wills, estates and probate.

Aggie also specialises in banking and finance, employment law and personal injury (both defendant and plaintiff claims). Aggie regularly provides advice to counsellors and psychotherapists in all aspects of their practice, additionally providing assistance and representation in responding to complaints including on behalf of an Insurer.

Prior to joining the firm and for more than a decade, Aggie was a Director at a boutique commercial law firm that represented corporate, institutional, and private clients, including Australia’s leading lender to the self employed in all aspects of its mortgage recovery practice. During this time Aggie also acted for a large industry superannuation fund, responsible for superannuation arrears collections.

Aggie understands that her clients face difficult and complex issues, and provides sensitive advice with realistic goals in mind. She also can draw upon her broad and strong network of experienced barristers, financial advisers, accountants, and other professional advisers to assist her clients as required.

Away from work, Aggie is a devoted mother to two boys, a wife, and enjoys running with her running group, reading and discussing books with her book club, and watching live music. She is also fluent in the Greek language.

Aggie is a member of the Law Council of Australia (Family Law Section), the Law Institute of Victoria, the Hellenic Lawyers Association and the Northern Suburbs Law Association. Aggie is also a Board Member of the Northern Bullants Football Club (VFL).
