SESSIONS

Earthquake design of fire safety systems

This presentation will expand upon the requirements of AS1170.4 Section 8:

  • The common shortfalls in installation, and considerations for improving installation outcomes from the materials, labour, and resultant costs associated
  • The further considerations for Importance Level 4 post-disaster facilities regarding seismic testing/accreditation (such as shake table testing to AC156), maintaining serviceability (SLS to 1/500 year APE), and considerations for hazardous facilities
  • And the compounding challenges to meet holistic NCC requirements, the general requirements of physics, and how systems fail to remain serviceable over time.
